Homebound
The tradition of the family portrait has long been a testament to the bonds that unite us. More than mere images, the act of a family gathering to be photographed symbolizes pride and hope, while reinforcing belonging and identity.
Homebound is a signature portrait series conceived by renowned Detroit-based photographer Bre’Ann White. White and local photographers Zeinab Aoude, and Xavier Cuevas will capture family portraits within the iconic setting of The Station. Each family will receive a 15 minute portrait session including a framed print and digital image file. Selections from Homebound will also be shared via social media alongside personal stories from each family.
White’s series is a celebration and preservation of legacies, where each family's image carries the importance of their heritage. Homebound creates a powerful visual archive for families to reaffirm their histories, while offering a contemporary imprint on a timeless tradition.
All proceeds from photography sessions will go to benefit families in need by way of Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL) and Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency.
